Moist misty words
Emerging from the darkness of the lone night,
Cast rainbow colours on the canvas bright.
Torrential tears dissolve pain from the past
Shadows of deceit fall apart
Mystery unfolds from the black blanket of myth and lie
Long craved the reptiles deaf and dead
For living the life of a butterfly.
Gong of grief still beats around high and low
From the thirsty eyes of the abandoned bond,
Obsolete love endlessly flows.
Gusty gale blows away the cold silence
Pink angels dance again,
On the sombre terrain in exuberance.
And, the voyage begins for the horizon new
Foot-prints of the crumbled time hence fast flew.
Debarati Bhattacharyya is a bi-lingual poet from Kolkata, being equally fluid in both the languages, English and Bengali. She also has translation work in Hindi and English to her credit and is experienced in working with Visual Poetry and Visual effect schemes. Her English poems have been anthologised. She has 5 books in Bengali to her credit, the latest one was published from Dhaka 2020 in Ekushe Boimela named ‘Sraboney Agun’. Her poems in both the languages are regularly published in national dailies in India , Bangladesh and on online platforms in UK and Canada. She is a science and law graduate from University of Calcutta, India and a postgraduate in Business and Human Rights law from University of Dundee, UK.
